Ritual Offerings and Prayers Bring Spiritual Renewal to SCE
A full-day rimdo was conducted at Samtse College of Education (SCE) on 26th April 2025 by Lam Neten Tshering Dorji from Samtse Dratshang. The purpose of the ritual was to invoke peace, harmony, and well-being for the entire SCE family and all sentient beings. Specifically, the rituals were performed to appease the local deities and to dispel obstacles that may hinder individual and institutional progress.
The spiritual ceremony began early at 6:30 AM and concluded at 5:30 PM. Held at the college prayer hall, the ritual was attended by faculty members, staff, and students, all of whom gathered to receive blessings and participate in the sacred ceremony led by the Lam Neten. A series of rituals—including Dra Marchen, Lhamoi Torchu Ja Tshar, Mikha, and Gyelp Gyenyen—were performed to remove spiritual hindrances, purify negativities, and promote collective prosperity and balance. The atmosphere was filled with deep reverence as chants, prayers, and sacred offerings were made throughout the day.
Lopen Sonam Gyeltshen, the overall coordinator of the event, remarked, “The rimdo is not only a religious obligation but a collective spiritual aspiration. Through these rituals, we seek the protection and guidance of Guru Drakmar and Pelden Lhamo, our protector of three worlds, and of our local deities so that our college community can thrive in an environment of harmony, clarity, and well-being.”
Participants expressed heartfelt appreciation for the initiative, noting that the ceremony brought a sense of calm, focus, and spiritual renewal to the academic environment. The event concluded with a prayer of dedication for continued peace and success at SCE.
