Research is a crucial activity for any college and without the active involvement of its faculty and students, it will be difficult to sustain the academic and professional knowledge of the faculty and students. The research unit of the college is looked after by the Dean of Research and Industrial Linkages, who is supported by the College Research Committee. The College Research Committee (CRC) was formally instituted in 2004.

Conventions

The college organizes “Faculty-Student Research Convention” twice in a year, one in spring and the other in autumn. The convention features key note address by renowned national and international scholars, paper presentation by faculty members, students, and teachers from nearby schools on various disciplines.

The rationale for organizing the research convention is to:

  • Provide platform for exchange of research experience among faculty members, students, and teachers;
  • Enhance an active culture of intellectual inquiry and scholarship in the college;
  • Provide academic space for researchers to develop invaluable competences such as writing, presentation, intelligent interactions and learning from others.

Postgraduates Seminars

The Masters of education (M. Ed) programme has a module titled ‘Advance Studies’ at three levels (Advance Studies I, II, & III) spread across three semesters. The module requires students to explore deeper into their subject through critical analysis, investigation and reflection. The in-depth exploration of selected topics in the subject disciplines enables content enhancement. They are required to produce substantial writing and present their work in seminars organised for post graduate students at the Subject, Centre, and College level. These seminars provide the platform for sharing their learning to an appropriate audience. It also enable the students’ context for gaining foundation knowledge and experiences essential to conducting research and scholarship through writing and presentation
