M.Ed in Science
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for enrolment in the M.Ed programme, a candidate should:
a. Hold a bachelor’s degree in secondary education or a bachelor of education in primary education with science or mathematics as a subject of specialization or PgDE/PGCE from a university or institute recognized by RCSC;
b. Have scored a minimum of 50% in English Language Proficiency Test comprising of a written test and viva voce. The focus of the test will be on analytical reasoning and language proficiency so that candidates can cope with the programme’s demands on language.
HOW TO APPLY?
For full scholarship, the candidates should apply to the Ministry of Education and for self-financed, the candidates should apply to Samtse College of Education. The date of admission will be announced on the college website.
M.Ed in Geography

SELECTION CRITERIA

- BA/BSsc/ BEd/PGDE in Geography
- Possessing a high level of interpersonal skills

For entry to the PgDE Course, the candidates must fulfill the following criteria:
A. BCSE conducted by the RCSC:
Those who have passed the BCSE conducted by the RCSC will be eligible for joining the PgDE programme.

Postgraduate Diploma in Contemplative Counselling Psychology
Eligibility Criteria
For entry to the PgDCCP Course, the candidates must fulfill the following criteria:
A. BCSE conducted by the RCSC:
Those who have passed the BCSE conducted by the RCSC will be eligible for joining the PgDCCP programme.
B. Academic criteria:
a. Bachelor’s Degree from any background with a minimum of 50% aggregate.
b. Demonstrate the aptitude and professional maturity to take up this programme as assessed through the interview.
c. Produce a detailed CV and all relevant academic transcripts from class XII and above.
d. Produce relevant documents like Citizenship Identity Card, valid security clearance and duly filled application form.
e. Assurance of ability to fund tuition fees.

SELECTION CRITERIA
The selection criteria will be announced through the SCE website.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
To be eligible for enrolment into the PgCert in Higher Education programme, the Bhutanese students should:
- hold a minimum of bachelor’s degree;
- teach in the RUB/private colleges in Bhutan at the time of application; and
- provide a letter of nomination from the respective college.
Foreign Applicants
The College will shortlist foreign students based on the first degree and relevant field. The shortlisted students will sit for an online written test and viva-voce. The focus of the written test and viva-voce will be on analytical reasoning, language proficiency, attitudinal and behavioural aspects of the students.
The final selection will be based on merit ranking. Merit ranking will be determined by the marks scored in the first degree and the marks obtained in English language proficiency test and online viva-voce. The weighting for different components is indicated below:
- Degree marks: 30%
- Viva-Voce: 30%
- Written test: 40%

For shortlisting Eligible applicants will be merit-ranked based on their academic achievements in Classes X and XII in the ratio of 30% to 70% respectively. For Class X, the marks will be based on English plus the four best subjects. For Class XII, it will be based on ability rating points as follows.
Arts stream English x 5 Geography x 5 Dzongkha x 2 Any other subject x 1 Based on the ability rating, the top 50 applicants will be shortlisted for a face-to-face selection interview.
