Samtse College of Education Reopens for Spring Academic Semester 2023
Samtse College of Education is set to welcome students back to campus for Spring Academic Semester of 2023 with renewed vigor and a strong commitment to excellence. On February 6th 2023, faculty and staff of the College commenced the beginning of the session with the recitation of prayers, followed by a half-day faculty meeting.
As the College reopens, it is clear that the focus is on ensuring that students receive an education that is both engaging and effective.
The Spring Semester will see the return of both new and returning students, and the college will start classes on February 16th. Programme planning meetings set to be conducted throughout this week will reiterate SCE’s commitment to providing its students with a dynamic learning environment that leverages cutting-edge technology, innovative teaching methods, with an emphasis on critical thinking and problem-solving.
The President, in his opening remark, highlighted the need for faculties to reinforce and strengthen good practices in the college, while working towards a higher aim of internationalising its courses to attract foreign students. The President also emphasized the need for teacher educators to transform their teaching, learning, and assessment (TLA) practices and perspectives, professional practices, and learning horizons in order to continue delivering high-quality education. The President also highlighted the importance of professional development for faculty and staff. He stated that by participating in ongoing professional development opportunities, educators can stay up-to-date on the latest research and best practices in the field, as well as gain new insights and perspectives that will enrich their teaching and enhance their ability to support students.
With renewed energy and focus, the College is poised to have a successful Spring Academic Semester 2023.
