In a heartwarming celebration of leadership and commitment, Samtse College of Education held an oath-taking ceremony on August 10, 2025, to officially recognise the newly elected student leaders for the academic year 2025–2026.

Four councilors from the B.Ed third year, namely Karma Dechen Tshering, Sangay Nidup, Tendral Zangmo and Dawa Zam, along with three from the B.Ed second year, Kinley Wangdi, Yeshi Gyeltshen and Jetsun Pema, were elected as the new student counsellors.

The event began with a traditional khadar ceremony, where the newly appointed student leaders were presented with khadar, the ceremonial white scarf symbolising respect and good fortune. This gesture marked their formal induction into leadership roles, underscoring the importance of their responsibilities.

Following the khadar presentation, the student leaders took an oath to serve the college with integrity, dedication and a commitment to fostering a positive community. The atmosphere was filled with anticipation as the student leaders pledged to uphold the college’s values, promising to be role models for their peers.

The event not only celebrated the new student leaders but also fostered a sense of unity among the student body. With cheers and applause, students expressed their support and excitement.

The ceremony concluded with a renewed sense of purpose among the students. The new councilors are ready to lead and create an inclusive environment at Samtse College of Education. With their commitment to excellence and service, they are set to make a positive impact in the academic year ahead, promoting integrity and community spirit within the college.
