Capacity Building Workshop for the Faculty of JSW Law, Pangbisa
A three-day capacity building workshop for the faculty of JSW Law was organized by the CULT unit at Samtse College of Education. The workshop was held at Samtse College of Education from 24th to 26th January 2024. It was facilitated by three faculty members of Samtse College of Education. A total of 12 faculty members from JSW Law participated in this workshop.
The workshop aimed to enable the participants to acquire knowledge and skills on:
- application of the domains of adolescent development in instructional designs, student-teacher relationships, and addressing student issues;
- major philosophies of education;
- models of curriculum development;
- various assessment strategies and techniques to enhance student learning and achievement; and
- principles of effective feedback.
Methodologically, the workshop employed a combination of instructional methods, including presentations, group discussions, and hands-on activities, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing among participants. Participant engagement was a key aspect of the workshop, with the participants actively contributing to discussions, sharing their experiences, and reflecting on their teaching practices.
Feedback from participants indicated high levels of satisfaction with the workshop content, facilitation, and relevance to their professional development needs. Participants expressed appreciation for the opportunity to learn about the different types of curriculum, the psychology of adolescents, and the different types of assessments. The feedback also showed that the facilitators were knowledgeable, resourceful, and well-prepared.
