New Beginnings: Samtse College Welcomes New Students and Faculty

On the evening of August 22, the senior students of Samtse College of Education (SCE)  hosted a welcome programme in honour of the newly appointed  faculty members, and new cohorts of B.Ed and Master of Arts in Contemplative Counselling students. The event brought together faculty members and students in a spirit of camaraderie and celebration, marking a new beginning of unity, friendship, and belonging within the SCE family.

For more than a week, the students diligently prepared a diverse range of dance and cultural performances across various genres and styles, celebrating cultural diversity, creativity, and the spirit of togetherness. The programme started at 5. 30 pm with a heartfelt welcome speech by the Chief councillor highlighting the significance of hosting such a programme. 

Following the welcome address, the programme continued with an exciting series of dance performances. The audience enthusiastically cheered and enjoyed the performances, reflecting the lively atmosphere of the evening. A total of 23 dance items were presented, showcasing the students’ talent, creativity, dedication, and teamwork. The performances received warm appreciation from faculty members and students alike.

The celebration concluded with a special dinner for all students and faculty members at the college mess. Beyond the performances and entertainment, the welcome show reflected the students’ dedication, unity, and, most importantly, the warm hospitality and inclusive spirit of the SCE family in welcoming its new faculty members and students.
