Goals, Glory, and Grit: SCE Athletes Shine at CST Grounds
From 11th to 12th October 2025, the students of Samtse College of Education (SCE) showcased remarkable athleticism and sportsmanship at the BUSF qualifying tournament hosted by the College of Science and Technology (CST). The spirited event brought together student-athletes from both colleges, celebrating teamwork, friendship, and healthy competition across multiple disciplines.
SCE fielded teams in football, volleyball, basketball, and archery for both boys’ and girls’ categories. Over two days of intense matches, the athletes demonstrated grit, determination, and passion for their games.

The tournament was filled with energy and excitement, with each match drawing enthusiastic cheers from the crowd. Among the many memorable moments, Tandin Jamtsho (2nd Year, Jersey No. 12) stood out for his outstanding performance, netting three goals that electrified the audience.
A CST spectator, Chimi Gyeltshen, shared his admiration:
“The matches were amazing and exciting. Both teams played with heart, but Tandin Jamtsho’s showcase was truly spectacular — those three goals were unforgettable.”
The highlight for SCE came from the girls’ football team, who clinched a hard-fought victory by a single goal. Their triumph was a testament to teamwork and perseverance. Reflecting on the win, team captain Dorji Selden remarked,
“It wasn’t an easy match, but we gave it our all. Winning by one goal might seem small, but for us, it means a lot — it reflects our unity and spirit.”
While not every match ended in SCE’s favour, the college’s athletes embodied the true essence of sportsmanship — resilience, respect, and camaraderie. Beyond the scores, the tournament strengthened the bond between Samtse College of Education and CST, reinforcing the values of friendship and mutual respect through the love of sport.
