SCE Prepares for Online No-Due Clearance System Implementation
Samtse College of Education (SCE) is poised to implement a new Online No-Due Clearance System, aimed at making the student clearance process faster, more convenient, and paperless.
As part of this initiative, a hands-on training session was conducted on 19 May 2025 for 12 staff members responsible for handling clearance-related tasks. The training familiarized participants with the key functions of the system, including accessing the dashboard, managing clearance requests, and navigating the digital workflow. With this system, students will no longer need to move from office to office to complete their no-due formalities. Once implemented, they will be able to complete the process entirely online—saving time, reducing manual errors, and minimizing paperwork. This system also optimizes staff processes by automating the clearance tasks, ensuring that clearance management is faster, smoother, and less susceptible to errors. As a result, staff can focus more on providing quality service, while students experience a more seamless and timely clearance process
The initiative is supported by the Royal University of Bhutan (RUB) Innovation Fund as part of the university’s broader push for digital transformation across its colleges. The system was developed by the Department of Information Technology at Jigme Namgyel Engineering College (JNEC). SCE extends its sincere appreciation to the JNEC team for their dedication, technical expertise, and continued support throughout the development process. The team has committed to finalizing the system’s integration with real-time student data, providing ongoing technical support, and incorporating user feedback to enhance functionality over time.
Narayan, ICT Associate at SCE, commenting on the system’s effectiveness, stated, “A key advantage of the system is that students without outstanding dues are automatically excluded from the clearance dashboard. This feature enables staff to promptly identify students requiring follow-up, thereby enhancing the transparency and efficiency of the clearance process.”
The system is planned for introduction this semester, with full implementation continuing in the following term. This development marks a promising step forward in improving student services and embracing innovative digital solutions at SCE.
