A Nail-Biting Victory: PgDE 2nd Year Beats PgDE 1st Year in Samtse College Football Final
The football field at Samtse College of Education was buzzing with energy on April 7, 2025, as PgDE 2nd Year and PgDE 1st Year faced off in a thrilling final match. After an intense battle, PgDE 2nd Year emerged victorious, taking home the prize of Nu. 8150, while PgDE 1st Year, despite a valiant effort, finished as runners-up with Nu. 6150.
The match was everything students had hoped for—high energy, nail-biting moments, and plenty of heart. Both teams were eager for victory, but it was PgDE 2nd Year that showed just a little more grit in the end.
The captain of PgDE 2nd Year shared that the team had strong individual players and that they had all hoped to win the tournament. He acknowledged that the match was tough and praised PgDE 1st Year for playing exceptionally well, making it an intense contest. However, he emphasized that their victory came down to teamwork and expressed his excitement that they had managed to pull it off. “Victory favors those who put in the effort,” he said, adding that they had achieved their goal through perseverance.
Reflecting on his personal journey, the captain revealed that the tournament hadn’t gone exactly as he expected, especially after suffering an injury during the third game of the league round. Despite the setback, he gave 100% in every match, and in the end, it paid off. He also noted how enjoyable the experience was and how much he had learned throughout the tournament.
Karma Dechen Tshering, a spectator at the match, described the game as intense and entertaining. She noted that both teams played with great passion, but PgDE 2nd Year ultimately showed more determination to win. “It was a fun match to watch,” she said. “The crowd was on the edge of their seats the entire time.”
