The Royal Civil Service Award ceremony for the faculty and staff of Samtse College of Education was held on 14 December 2022.

This year saw a total of 10 medal recipients: 6 recipients of Bronze Medal for 10 years of service, 3 recipients of Silver Medal for 20 years of service and 1 recipient of Gold Medal.

The officiating President, Kuenzang Gyeltshen congratulated the awardees and hoped that the award would further embolden the recipients to rededicate their efforts towards the King and the Country as a whole.

Dr Sonam Rinchen, the only Gold Medal recipient for this year, said that he felt honoured to have served the country for 30 years, but that this is just the beginning of his dedication to the nation. Mr Wangchuk Dorji received a Silver medal and stated that his family organised a celebration for his achievement, which deepened his dedication to professional service to the nation in multiple ways, and not just within his capacity as a lecturer in the College.

The Royal Civil Service Award, initiated by the RCSC as per the royal command of His Majesty The King, is awarded annually in recognition of civil servants serving Tsa- Wa-Sum with utmost dedication and hard work.
