Samtse College of Education Welcomes New Students to an Inspiring New Academic Journey
Samtse College of Education (SCE), Royal University of Bhutan, is buzzing with excitement as it welcomes its newest cohort of students to the Autumn 2026 Semester through a vibrant three-day Registration and Orientation Programme taking place from 29 to 31 July 2026. The programme marked the beginning of an exciting academic journey for students enrolled in the Bachelor of Education (BEd) and Master of Contemplative Counselling (MACC) programmes.
The orientation is designed to familiarise students with college life, academic expectations, student support services, research opportunities, and the values that define the Samtse College of Education community. Throughout the programme, new students will have the opportunity to interact with the college leadership, faculty members, administrative staff, and student leaders, helping them make a smooth transition into university life.
Welcoming the new students, the President of the College encouraged them to embrace the opportunities ahead with enthusiasm, integrity, and a commitment to lifelong learning. He emphasised the importance of the 3Cs—Communication, Collaboration, and Conduct—as essential qualities for both academic success and professional growth. He also reminded students that diligence and perseverance remain the foundations of meaningful achievement.
The Academic Affairs orientation introduced students to the College’s vision, mission, philosophical commitment, core values, academic programmes, learning and teaching approaches, assessment policies, attendance requirements, and expectations for student success. Students were also informed about programme management, leave procedures, and the rewards available for outstanding academic performance.
During the Research and Industrial Linkages session, students gained insight into SCE’s vibrant research culture, ongoing projects, international collaborations, and opportunities for scholarly engagement. The session encouraged students to cultivate curiosity and actively participate in research initiatives that contribute to educational innovation and national development.
The Student Affairs orientation familiarised students with the wide range of support services available, including hostel accommodation, student welfare schemes, health and wellness services, student engagement activities, campus regulations, and co-curricular opportunities. The session reinforced the College’s commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment where every student can thrive.
The final day of the programme featured orientations on counselling services, ICT facilities, library services, and programme-specific academic briefings. Students also participated in guided campus and library tours, enabling them to become acquainted with the learning spaces and facilities that will support their academic journey.
As the new semester begins, Samtse College of Education extends its heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all new students. The College looks forward to nurturing compassionate, reflective, and competent educators and professionals who will contribute meaningfully to Bhutan and beyond through academic excellence, service, and lifelong learning.
