Samtse College of Education Celebrates Spirit and Sportsmanship in Regional Meet Against Gedu College of Business Studies
On the weekend of September 28th and 29th, Samtse College of Education (SCE) hosted an exhilarating regional sports meet in collaboration with Gedu College of Business Studies (GCBS). Despite challenging weather conditions, both colleges demonstrated remarkable enthusiasm and sportsmanship throughout the competition.
While GCBS excelled in many of the events, SCE showcased incredible determination and spirit. The highlight of the weekend was SCE’s girls’ volleyball team, which defied the odds to secure a hard-fought victory, bringing immense pride to the college.
Reflecting on the experience, the GCBS captain emphasized the significance of persistence and passion in sports, quoting the legendary Michael Jordan: “Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships.” This mindset served as a guiding principle for their team as they navigated the tournament on SCE’s unfamiliar court. The captain acknowledged the challenges posed by the venue and weather but remained optimistic about their performance.
Although the overall results did not favor SCE, the resilience and commitment of their players were commendable, particularly as they competed against a larger student body. The matches underscored the essence of teamwork and perseverance displayed by both institutions.
This regional meet not only highlighted the athletic talent within both colleges but also reinforced the importance of inter-college competitions in fostering sportsmanship and camaraderie. SCE looks forward to future events, including their upcoming matches against CST on October 19th and 20th.
