Dr. Sonam Rinchen Appointed as New President of Samtse College of Education

In a significant development for the academic community, Dr. Sonam Rinchen has been appointed as the new President of Samtse College of Education. With a humble beginning as a teacher, Dr. Sonam brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role, having served in various key academic positions throughout his career.

Dr. Sonam completed his PhD in 2014 from the Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Australia, with a focus on student emotions, a subject that has remained central to his academic and administrative work. His career trajectory has been marked by significant contributions in the fields of education and research, holding roles as a teacher, school principal, teacher educator, and most recently, Dean of Research and Industrial Linkages. His deep understanding of educational systems and commitment to student development are expected to guide the college toward new heights.

Upon his appointment, Dr. Sonam expressed his gratitude and commitment to advancing the college’s mission. “It is an honour to be entrusted with this responsibility. Education is the cornerstone of our nation’s future, and I am dedicated to ensuring that Samtse College of Education continues to excel in nurturing the next generation of educators,” he said.
