Inter-house volleyball tournament for Girls and Boys
An intense and closely-fought final inter-house volleyball match for boys division was held on April 16 between Druk House and Seng House. The final score was 25-20, 22-25 and 25-23 in favor of Team Druk, who were declared the champions. The girls’ final was equally exciting, with Taag taking on Chung House with Taag emerging victorious, with a score of 25-15 and 25-21.
Despite the sunny and warm weather on both days of the event, many students and faculty members came out to watch the matches. One of the attendees, Mr Tashi, lecturer, said that as a Volleyball enthusiast, he was happy to show support for the students despite the weekend schedule. For the players, the attendance of students and faculty members made the atmosphere electric, and added to the overall excitement of the event.

A total of 5 teams participated in the event including a team from the staff and faculty. Chencho, the team leader of the staff team, expressed his thanks to the organisation, stating ‘ It was exciting to be able compete with the other students’ team; it kept us on our toes, and we had to work quite hard. Although we did not win, we are happy to be part of the competition.’
The inter-house volleyball league is an annual sporting event that takes place at the College as a way for students to engage in team-building exercise. The league is played in both the boys’ and girls’ divisions, and teams compete against each other in a number of rounds before the winners are declared.
Prizes for the competition will be awarded in the morning assembly next Monday.
