Two Academic Staff Felicitated
The College congratulated two academic staff on the successful completion of their long-term studies.
Dr Dechen Doma received her PhD from Shokutoku University, Japan. The title of her thesis is “At the Interface of Buddhism and Western Approaches to Youth Substance Abuse in Bhutan: A Comparison of Client and Agency Understanding of Treatment and Effectiveness.”
Mr. Tashi completed his Masters in Geography from Guwahati University, Assam, India. In the congratulatory remark, President Dr. Rinchen Dorji shared that each additional qualification should add value to the college and use the knowledge gained to make a tangible impact on the academic and research fields. He went on to say they use their degrees to make contributions that remain as a lifetime legacy, even after they leave college.
Dr Dechen Doma expressed her deep appreciation to the President for providing her with much emotional support during her stressful times. It was a journey that was both professionally and personally enriching, she added.
Mr. Tashi also expressed his appreciation to the President for showing dynamism as a leader by giving him the opportunity to pursue his master’s degree.
