College Celebrates King’s 42nd Birthday
The College celebrated the 42nd Birthday of His Majesty The King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck at Rigsum Goenpo Hall. The celebration began with offering the butter lamps, reciting the profound Zhabten, and reciting prayers that would dispel all misfortunes and obstacles.
At this celebration, all college staff and faculty, regardless of their positions, unanimously stepped forward to express gratitude to His Majesty’s selfless rule and unprecedented sacrifices for the people of Bhutan.
Mr. Kuenzang Gyeltshen, Dean of Academic Affairs, said he prayed and wished His Majesty a long life and good health without any wellbeing problems. Mr. Dorji S, Lecturer in History, said that in these unprecedented times of the pandemic, when His Majesty is leading the fight against an unseen enemy sacrificing His Birthday celebrations in the borderlands, I can only offer my prayers of support to the King. I prayed deeply that His Majesty do not get Himself contracted with a virus protecting the people of Bhutan, he added.
The celebration concluded with the serving of Suja and Shamdey to all the attendees.
