Welcome Dinner for First Year BA in Social Work Students

The first year students gathered at the dining hall for welcome dinner organized by the College Management and students under the initiative of student councillors on the evening of 27th October at 5:45pm.

As soon as time ticked 5:45 pm, all the first year students lined up and received welcome badges and candies served by the councillors. The new students including the faculty present and the other students picked up random numbers to choose their table mates to enable the new students to interact and know other students and faculty members. A simple welcome tea and snacks was followed by lighting of table with candles for a candle lit welcome dinner.

One of the student councillors Chimi Zangmo stated: “Program was held mainly to make freshers feel motivated, welcomed and to make them feel as a part or family of Samtse College of Education. The Program was to be held before hand but could not do it due the pandemic since college had to follow certain protocols. “

According to a first year student Sangay Dema, “lt was a heartwarming and welcoming program. I felt somewhat like now I am officially a member of SCE. The dinner made me feel so secure and happy. I really liked the way we were welcomed. I am extremely honoured to be a part of Samtse College of Education and for the hospitality. I will always look forward to the same cooperation and programs in all the times to come.”
