Announcement for New Students: 2020 Admission

Reporting Date and General Information for New Students Admitted in July 2020 Intake at Samtse College of Education

 (Autumn Semester 2020)

1.  Reporting date – 25th August 2020

2. Registration and Orientation – 26th August 2020

All new students are requested to bring the following at the time of registration:

i) Photocopy of Class X and XII Certificates and Mark sheet for submission to the College and Original copies for verification – COMPULSORY

ii) Copy of the Citizenship Identity Card or Certification of Citizenship issued by the  Department of Civil Registration and Census, Ministry of Home and Cultural Affairs – COMPULSORY

iii) TWO recent Pass Port Photograph – COMPULSORY

iv) Class XII School Leaving Certificate (Original) – COMPULSORY

v) ONE legal stamp – COMPULSORY

3. Other essential items required to bring are:

i) Kabney/ Rachu

ii) Sickle

iii) Bedding set

iv) Umbrella

v) Toiletries and stationeries

vi) At least two cloth face masks

vii) Laptop (Preferred but not mandatory)

viii) Hand sanitizer

4. Reception

The new students will be received by the College staff and student councillors at the College main gate. All students and guardians coming to reach the students will have to undergo thermal scanning and other Covid-19 protocols in place.

5. Tuition fees and accommodation for self-financed students

i) Tuition fee for self-financed student is Nu.68344.00 (Sixty-eight thousand three hundred and forty-four only) per year. A student can pay tuition fees in full or in two installments of Nu. 34,172 per semester (thirty-four thousand one hundred and seventy-two only) at the time of registration.

ii) Hostel accommodation and mess facilities will be provided.

iii) Self-financed students will be required to make the following payments:

a) 1500.00 per month for food in the College mess

b) 350.00 per month for hostel accommodation

c) 50.00 per month for electricity

d) 35.00 per month as contributions for the Student Welfare Fund.

NOTE:

i) All payments mentioned in (iii) a, b, c, & d will need to be paid at the beginning of the semester in lump sum amount.

ii) The same fees for hostel accommodation, food in the College mess, electricity charges shall be levied to all government scholarship students

6. Other fees and collections

i) Refundable security deposit of Nu.3000.00 will be collected from both the government scholarship and self-financed students at the time of registration. The security deposit shall be refunded at the time of graduation from the College.

ii) Non-refundable registration fee of Nu.500.00 will be collected from both government scholarship and self-financed students at the time of registration.
