Philosophy of work

As an Assistant Student Service Officer, my role is rooted in the belief that every student deserves access to resources, guidance, and support that empower them to thrive academically, socially, and personally. Students are the heart of my work. I strive to understand their unique needs, challenges, and aspirations, ensuring that my actions and decisions prioritize their well-being and success. Every student deserves equal access to opportunities, regardless of their background, abilities, or circumstances. I am committed to fostering an inclusive environment where diversity is celebrated and barriers to success are minimized. I believe in approaching each interaction with empathy and genuine care. By actively listening to students, I aim to provide tailored solutions and build trust that encourages open communication. I aim to create a positive and impactful student experience, contributing to the holistic development of each individual and the broader success of the college community.

Academic/Educational Qualification:

  • Bachelor of Arts in Bhutanese and Himalayan Studies, College of Language and Culture Studies, 2017.
  • Class X & XII, Mongar Higher Secondary School, 2013.

Professional Experience: Served as National Contract Teacher (2018-2020) under the Ministry of Education.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • To assist the Dean of Student Affairs to look after the welfare of students and also to multitask in performing other administrative responsibilities whenever required by the college management.
  • To look after the welfare and care of the students for the designated residential area/hostels under the guidance of Dean of Students Affairs.
  • To provide safe, inclusive and respectful environment for living and learning in particular, shaping a high-quality residential experience for the students in the College.
  • Assist in inducting new students to hostels and familiarizing them to students’ rules, regulations, common norms and standards in hostels.
  • Assist in coordinating with the academic adviser to monitor and support students learning.
  • Assist in managing and administering student Affairs for the given residential area including record keeping.
  • To Listen students’ problems and help them to find resolutions and refer to appropriate services.
  • Manage hostel facilities and its surroundings in terms of cleanliness and upkeep of the facilities for the enhancement of the aesthetic ambience of the hostels.

Coordinates and support students’ activities for the hostels related to social and community services, literary activities and other useful events.

Interest and Personal Strength Interested in reading and learning, travelling and photography, exploring and cooking. I am also determined, self-driven, reliable and honest, patient and sense of empathy, enthusiastic and open minded in every situation and carry a positive outlook for every activity I do. I am keen in exploring and learning new things in order to gain experience and broaden my knowledge.
