Mr. Lhapchu, Lecturer

Philosophy of teaching and learning:

I believe that classroom is a community of different individuals and for that reason, my primary role as a tutor is to create interactive learning environments to foster interest and understanding for individual students. As a tutor, I believe in encouraging my learners to tap their own potential to learn through interactions with people, books, nature and technology. The self-paced nature of exploratory learning relies on the notion that effective learning environments actively engage students with the material and promote meaningful associations between new material and information already known. As a tutor, it is my responsibility to help students generate their own context for meaning through the application of new material to their everyday lives. And as a teacher educator, I have four overarching goals for any modules that I teach:

  1. to foster critical thinking,
  2. to promote mastery of module content,
  3. to encourage application of new approaches of teaching and learning in their classroom, and
  4. to make best use of ICT in teaching and learning process.
