A highly anticipated football tournament was held over six days, from 25th March to 6th April, organized by Samtse FC to identify and recruit promising local  talents for the club. Seven teams participated in the tournament, including Samtse College of Education.

The SCE team proved to be a formidable contender, with seven of their players successfully impressing the scouts and earning selection for Samtse FC. This achievement underscores the dedication and rigorous training undertaken by the SCE players, who reportedly practiced daily from 6 AM to 7 AM under the guidance of Dechen Choney and Jeewan Bastola.

The tournament kicked off with a compelling match between Samtse High School FC and SCE FC on 25th March. SCE FC showcased their skills and secured a decisive victory with a two-goal lead, setting the tone for the intense competition that followed. The tournament drew large crowds, who witnessed the passion and commitment of all participating teams. Pema Gyelmo, a player from SCE FC, expressed her gratitude to the supporters, saying their presence and encouragement motivated her to play her best.

The semi-final clash between Peljorling FC and SCE turned out to be a one-sided affair, with SCE dominating the field. Their outstanding performance resulted in a resounding five-goal victory, further solidifying their position as strong contenders for the championship.

The final match saw a thrilling encounter between SCE and Moms FC. In a closely contested game, Moms FC emerged victorious, edging out SCE by a narrow one-goal margin. The final whistle marked the conclusion of six days of intense football, with Moms FC crowned champions. Dawa Zam, another SCE player, acknowledged the tough competition faced throughout the tournament but shared her joy in reaching the finals and vowed to return even stronger in future competitions.

Notably, the tournament was conducted without any participation fees, ensuring accessibility for all aspiring players. The prizes for the winning team and the runners-up are scheduled to be announced on 15th April.

Overall, the Samtse FC Talent Hunt Tournament was a resounding success. It provided a valuable platform for local footballers to showcase their abilities while enriching the extracurricular activities and sporting culture within the community.
