Philosophy of work:

Dedicated to fulfilling the responsibilities of the librarian role with the utmost integrity and transparency in all interactions. Committed to fostering a supportive and enriching environment that meets the diverse needs of students and faculty. Driven by a genuine desire to provide exceptional library services, I strive to enhance access to information and resources that empower the academic community in their pursuits of knowledge and scholarship.

I aim to create an innovative and inviting library space that encourages collaboration and independent learning. By promoting a culture of inclusivity and curiosity, I ensure that all users feel valued and supported in their educational journeys. My commitment to delivering flexible and dependable services underscores my belief in the transformative power of libraries in enhancing teaching and learning experiences.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead library operations, overseeing daily activities and staff coordination to ensure smooth service delivery.
  • Develop and implement an annual library services plan, monitoring progress and adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Prepare and manage the library budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources for operations and programs.
  • Coordinate the acquisition and cataloguing of library materials, including evaluating vendor proposals and managing contracts.
  • Organize and supervise library programs and events, promoting engagement and accessibility for all users.
  • Assist patrons with research inquiries and provide information literacy instruction to enhance their research skills.
  • Maintain accurate records of library transactions, services, and user statistics for evaluation and reporting.
  • Develop and manage the library’s digital resources and databases, ensuring easy access to information.
  • Ensure the library environment is welcoming, clean, and conducive to study and collaboration.
  • Plan and implement policies and procedures to uphold safety, security, and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Manage inventory of library materials and equipment, ensuring availability and proper maintenance.
  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned by college management, contributing to the overall mission of the institution.

Qualification

BSS in Information studies and Library Management

Professional Experience:

7 years of experience as a Library Assistant, specializing in patron services, cataloguing, and information management. Proven ability to assist in the organization of library resources and support library programs, while effectively collaborating with staff and users. Strong practical knowledge of library systems and technology, with a focus on enhancing user experience and promoting information literacy. Skilled in managing daily operations, maintaining collections, and providing exceptional customer service to a diverse community.
