Samtse College of Education Commemorates 55th College Foundation Day with Dignitaries and Cultural Celebrations
Samtse College of Education celebrated its 55th College Foundation Day on May 29, 2023, with a grand event that showcased the institution’s rich history and contributions to the field of education in Bhutan. The event was graced by esteemed guests, including the Guest of Honour, Lam Neten, who emphasized the visionary nature of the college’s establishment by the late King Third Druk Gyalpo.
The event commenced with an offering of butter lamp at heritage center resounding the ceaseless tribute to Third Druk Gyalpo Jigme Dorji Wangchuck. The inaugural ceremony held in the college auditorium, not only brought faculty members, staff, students, alumni, and special guests together but given the moment to reckon the contributions made by Third Druk Gyalpo and the monarchs. Lam Neten, in his address, lauded the college as a product of the late King’s vision and expressed his admiration for the dedication and love with which the institution serves the nation. The College Rimdro took place on the very day, during which Mr. Sangay Tshering remarked that it was the perfect occasion to reaffirm the Great Third’s ideals. This is also a moment; we not only recognize his contributions to the nation but also renew our commitment to fulfilling his aspirations. Lopen Sonam Gyeltshen stated that this act will also serve as protection against unseen malevolent forces, reinforcing our dedication to serving Tsa-wa-sum.
