Notification
Following the notification by the government, Samtse College of Education like any other schools and institutions shall remain closed w.e.f. from today, 18th March 2020 until further notice from the government.
The College Management would like to inform the parents, guardians, family members and relatives of our students that the College has taken all necessary precautions to keep the students and the College fraternity safe and well protected from COVID-19. We have already received queries from a few parents if the students would be allowed to come home. We understand your concerns and worries regarding the safety of your children especially at a time when the threat of COVID-19 is on high alert. With the first positive case of COVID-19 detected in Kolkata, you must be more concerned and worried about your children and family members with Samtse sharing a porous border with West Bengal.
However, the College Management would like to assure you that we are committed to do everything possible to keep our students safe from this pandemic because our students’ wellbeing has always been a high priority for us. Although the College remains close, the students’ learning shall continue unaffected with the use of online teaching facility via online learning management systems such as the virtual learning environment (VLE) that all the Colleges of RUB have been using for quite some time.
The College Management is in constant touch with the Office of the Vice Chancellor and other Presidents of the colleges of RUB to discuss further on the measures and arrangements we have already put in place and make collective decisions in the best interest of the students and the institution as a whole.
We will let you know of our decision whether to let the students leave for home or not by the later part of the day today. What we ask of you is to inform your children to restrict their movements, avoid crowds, wash hands regularly, use a face mask if sick, avoid handshakes, and hydrate themselves adequately. This would be a BIG reinforcement and support to us in ensuring the safety of your children, our students at this critical time.
