Policy and Programme Development 

Developed policies, programmes and procedures for improved teaching, learning and assessment in the College.

  • Led the development of M. Ed in Science and Mathematics programme that was successfully launched in July 2017
  • Initiated and led the development of PgDE part-time programme for private school teachers that was launched in December 2016.
  • Co-ordinated the development of 2 issues of ‘Shes-Rig PAGES: A Biannual Newsletter of Samtse College of Education (first published in 2016).
  • Led the development and providing of tailor made programme on Laboratory Management to 210 School Laboratory Assistants for a period of 10 days for 5 cohort from 12 April to 1 July 2017. The Laboratory Management training provided in depth knowledge and skills on science laboratory management with special focus on safety and risk management, basic repair and maintenance of laboratory equipment, organization and conduct of experiments at Middle and Higher Secondary School level, virtual laboratory, and creating a scientific learning environment in and around the science laboratory for effective science teaching and learning.
  • Coordinated a tailor made programme on Library Management to 210 Library Assistants of schools and colleges for a period of 10 days for 5 cohort from 12 April to 1 July 2017. The training focused on developing and enhancing knowledge and skills of the school Library Assistants to enable them to develop and manage library resources to support school education, personal development and lifelong learning skills of the school children.

  • 0.3 M from a national based research project titled ‘Entrepreneurship in Education: Exploring its status and relationship to economic competitiveness in Bhutan’ implemented in 2015-2016. The grant was secured from Business Opportunity and Information Centre (BOIC), Bhutan
  • 0.07 for research project titled ‘Peer-learning: An Alternative teaching pedagogy for Bhutanese schools’ implemented from April 2018-. The research grant is secured from the College Research Stimulus Fund, Samtse.
