The 66th Birth Anniversary of His Majesty Drukgyal Zhipa Celebrated

The College joined the nation in commemorating the 66th Birth Anniversary of His Majesty The Fourth King Jigme Singye Wangchuck.

The commemoration began on 10th November evening with art and quiz competitions on the theme “His Majesty The Fourth Druk Gyalpo”. In the art competition, team PgDE section B was declared winner followed by PgDE section A. Team  Jigme bagged the first position in the quiz competition, the second position was taken by Team Gyalpo and Team Wangchuck came third. All the winners and runners ups were awarded His Majesty’s portraits as prizes.

On 11th November, the College organized a modest celebration of the Birth Anniversary considering the pandemic risk. Led by the President, all the faculty, staff and students offered various prayers and Moenlams for the continued long life, health and well being of His Majesty The Drukgyal Zhipa. It was followed by the recitation of Zhabten of His Majesty The Fourth King.

In the afternoon, various sporting events were organized as part of the celebration because 11th November is also the national childrens’ day.
