A Call of Literature

On 9th October 2021 from 8:30 am to 1 pm, a Literature Festival was held for the first time at Samtse College of Education. It was organized through the collaboration of the Department of Language Education and Literary club to enrich students’ love for literature.

The festival was an impressive call for literature lovers to display their love for different genres of books through interesting and diverse mediums. Visitors and students were able to see and learn about different literary works in creative manners. Interest in certain books was kindled for the visitors, and many even had the opportunity to satiate their hunger and play games.

The festival was extremely exciting. Each class selected a literary work and displayed their interpretation in various methods. Food stalls, drama, quiz, photo boots, shadow act, movie theatres, and puppet show are just some of the various display presented during the festival. The festival, divided into two halves, was held on the football ground from 8:30 to 11 pm and in the main academic block from 11 to 1 pm.

Sixteen classes participated in the event and competed for the prize of Nu. 5000, Nu. 4000 and Nu. 3000. The event was also meant to as serve a foundation for the students to host a literary festival in their schools in future.
