Students Leave to their respective homes

Consequent to government order of closing all educational institutions and subsequent advice from the Office of the Vice Chancellor (OVC), Motithang, Thimphu, RUB College Executives have unanimously agreed to send students home. This hard decision was made considering the safety and high risk of getting infected exponentially should there be any outbreak in the campus of RUB colleges.

Accordingly, SCE students are also notified of the decision and sent home. However, before they left the campus, led by the President and Deans, the college management briefed the students on arrangement of transportation, importance of registering before leaving the campus, online teaching and learning that will happen, faculty preparedness on use of various online platforms and value of students’ participation in the online teaching and learning.

President also advised student body that the success of online platform based teaching and learning will depend on students’ sincere participation, and also requested all students to regularly check various social media platforms of each module and interact with respective module tutors. He also expressed that there will be challenges and no excuses shall be accepted should there be failure in the learning from students’ end. Further, President informed that all faculty will be in the campus and there will be weekly meetings to discuss and innovate online teaching and learning. The innovation will be based on the experiences that they will have once this mode of teaching and learning is implemented after students’ arrival at their homes. Furthermore, President highlighted that students are the ambassadors of the college to the family, relatives and the community and must share correct knowledge and information on COVID-19 to them. And no one should get into troubles or problems and also take utmost precaution yourself not to get infected with COVID-19.
