The Department of Science offers the elective modules in the three branches of science, i.e. Physics, Chemistry and Biology for B. Ed and PgDE courses. The department envisions in providing the content knowledge of the modules as well as the appropriate methods to help the trainees to teach their subjects in the schools. The department also provides science education modules of the above electives to cater to the needs of the science teachers.

These modules familiarize the trainee teachers with the science policies of the country, helps in developing various strategies of teaching the subjects and also develop the basic skills in lab management and procedures. Apart from the above, the department also emphasizes on the usefulness of science learning in one’s everyday life.
