The prime objective of the Distance Education Programme Committee is to support the College Academic Committee on blueprints, implementation strategies, and policies that contribute to the quality and the growth of the distance education programme at the college; to work with all pertinent subject departments and administrators to foster innovation aiming in enhancing professional and academic quality at a level appropriate to the in-service B.Ed (Primary) students for which the content is developed.
Roles and Responsibilities
Specifically the Distance Education Programme Committee will support in fulfilling and achieving the goals and professional expectations of the in-service B.Ed (P) programme by making recommendations and addressing the related issues to the College Academic Committee regarding;
Curriculum and content design (self instructional materials) issues impacting delivery of distance education;
1. Policies issues and procedures that provide technical and academic services that affect all the modes of distance education course delivery which includes enrollment limits, residential school and Course Management System (Moodle) and similar new technologies appropriate for the content delivery;
2. Budgetary, facilities and equipment needs that may affect with the increasing number of in-service students in future;
3. Recommendations based on the developed assessment measures that evaluate the success of the distance education programme at the College.
