College Academic Committee (CAC)
The main purpose of the College Academic Committee among others is to “serve as the guarantor of academic standards and quality in respect of the design, delivery, development and promotion of best practice in curricula, programs, general educational matters and research within the institute” (The Wheel of Academic Law 2008). As a standing committee of the Academic Board, the CAC’s primary responsibility shall be “the implementation of the University academic quality assurance policies and procedures covering the development and the monitoring of taught programs, learning and teaching and the academic support of student teacher teachers” enrolled in the programs. The delegated powers of the College Academic Committee will include the admission, recruitment, academic progress, supervision, discipline, care and support of student teachers, introduction, management and monitoring of programs, fostering research, and reporting bi-annually to the Academic Board. Hence, all program committees, departments and units shall report to the College Academic Committee for decisions and approvals related to academic programs.
