Title of the module: The Behaviour of Gases and Introduction to Organic Chemistry

This module will help trainees to have deeper understanding of:
i. The laws that govern the behaviour of gases.
ii. Why gases deviate from ideal behaviour.
iii. How the gas laws contributed to the development of atomic theory.
iv. The nomenclature and importance of organic chemistry everyday life.
v. The effective teaching methods of related topics that can be done in schools in
Bhutan.

Title of the module: Electro-Chemistry, Sulphur and its Compounds

This module will help student teachers to have in depth knowledge and understanding of:
i. The relationship between electricity and chemistry.
ii. The fundamental principles and applications of electrochemistry in day to day life.
iii. Sulphur and its compounds and their chemical properties which make them an important industrial, chemical and biological process.
iv. School chemistry for effective teaching in school.

This module aims at providing the student teacher with the knowledge and understanding of:
i. Mendelian principles,
ii. chromosome and chromosomal aberrations,
iii. genetic material and gene interaction,
iv. linkage and crossing over,
v. mutation, sex chromosome and sex linkage, sex determination,
vi. plant breeding and heterosis and
vii. Bio- technology.
