This module is designed to
? Help the trainee teachers to teach Physics effectively in schools in Bhutan using
different methodologies stated in the content.
? Use Physics in their everyday lives
? Contribute positively to the scientific development of the nation.

Title of the module: Optics and Waves

Code: PHY2504

This module is designed to
1. Give the trainee teachers the opportunity to develop full understanding of the subject optics and waves
2. Help trainee teachers to teach related subject matter effectively in schools in Bhutan.
3. Use the applications of lenses and prism in their daily life
4. Handle optical instruments

Title of the module: The Nature of Matter

Code: CHE 2303

This module will help trainee teachers to clarify the basic concepts like:
i. Why do atoms of different elements react?
ii. What are the forces that hold atoms together in molecules and ions in ionic compounds?
iii. What shapes do they assume? The concepts like hybridization,
iv. Valence shell electron pair repulsion (VSEPR) theory and redox reactions are also dealt here.


Title of the module: Introduction to Chemistry Education

Code: CHE 2304

This module is designed to
i. Help the trainee teachers to teach chemistry effectively in schools in Bhutan using different methodologies stated in the content.
ii. Help trainees design new strategies to resolve the obstacles encountered in teaching chemistry.
iii. Contribute positively to the scientific development of the nation.

Title of the module: Human Anatomy and Physiology

Code: BIO 2303

This module is chiefly aimed at providing the student teachers with in depth knowledge and understanding of the anatomy and physiology of:
i. nervous system
ii. sensory system
iii. endocrine system
iv. excretory system
v. reproductive system
vi. body temperature and regulation.

Title of the module: Plant Kingdom

Code: BIO 2304

The main aim of the module is to equip the biology student teachers with the knowledge of:
i. the fundamentals of systematic botany (Plant Taxonomy)
ii. aims and objectives of classification,
iii. principles and the systems of classification,
iv. diversity of the plant kingdom.
v. recognizing important plant families in the floral composition of Bhutan.
